It’s one of these hot Berlin summer days and you are looking for a fresh and light meal? I would recommend visiting Beets & Roots! Having two subsidiaries in Berlin Mitte, you can reach the restaurants easily coming from every part of the city. This day, we chose the one at Große Hamburger Straße. It has a very modern look with concrete walls and neon lights.
At the counter, you can decide whether you would like to go for a salad, a bowl, a soup, pita or wrap. Next step is 1) to go for one of their suggested combinations or 2) to create your own bowl from scratch. All dishes can be served vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free!
As the three from us came from work, we went for the easy way – we ordered a Thai Watermelon Salad (watermelon, baby spinach, sprouts, carrots, mint, coriander, peanuts and a lime dressing), a Protein bowl (butternut squash, broccoli, quinoa, beetroot, edamame, lemon dressing and almonds) and a Lemongrass Soup (coconut milk, sweet potato, lemongrass, broccoli, mushrooms and sunflower seeds).
After a short amount of time, the girl behind the counter called: “Will Smith! Tom Hanks! Marilyn Monroe!” – the names standing on our receipts. We took our food outside to enjoy the last sunrays. Eating it, were very satisfied with the freshness and quality of the used products and the good seasoning. There will definitely be a second time at Beets & Roots!
Cool option – you can create your own bowl online and pick it up at one of the stores – or even get it delivered!
