I think we can (almost) all agree on two things: Sushi is great and burgers are great. But what if you put those two important inventions of humankind together and create… let’s say, a Sushi Burger? Wait, what? Yes. A burger made out of sushi. Sushi, but as a burger. It’s weird. It’s genius. It’s something I wanted to try instantly, once I saw it on CocoLiebe’s website. And naturally, it’s super delicious. This is what it looks like:
Notice the beautiful way the plates are decorated, with that adorable little raspberry in the middle! CocoLiebe in Berlin Neukölln definitely puts liebe in their dishes and you can taste it in every bite. In this case, love tastes like creamy avocado, vegan wasabi mayonnaise, peanut sauce and soy-, nut- and gluten-free “meat” between two perfectly sticky sushi rice buns. They also offer a vegetarian version with additional cream cheese and a special version with smoked salmon. As sides, there’s a small salad with pomegranate seeds and salted almonds, and some fried sweet potato slices. Franzi and I loved it.
And that’s not all, my picky friends. Many other picky treasures hide inside these menus. Pizza, for example. Not sushi pizza (that’s the next level!), but have you ever had one with hummus, salad, tomatoes, avocado and walnuts? Or what about a sweet pizza with caramelized apples, sour cream, walnuts and peppermint? Yum. As I’m a breakfast junkie, I will definitely come back for their vegan oriental breakfast including tofu spiced with Za’atar.
