Get lucky at Lück’s – vegan, homemade cuisine

You’ll get lucky at Lück’s, I promise! In January 2017, the brothers David and Christian opened this fabulous vegan restaurant in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The menu promises a lot: You can choose from a small balanced menu, for example Tempeh-Burger, homemade gnocchi or a creamy mushroom dish. That does not sound special enough? The chef is very creative and adds crazy components to all dishes, such as an orange-sesame-cream-dressing or a hemp-parmesan topping with pomegranate kernels. Thanks to the use of regional products, a changing variety of soups with homemade bread is offered every day. The menu changes every month, so you can always try something new!

We have one of our Picky Eaters team meetings at Lück’s. We always try to do the meetings in restaurants where none of us have eaten before. That way it’s much more fun! Today Tabea is going for the Tempeh Burger with a homemade „Dinkelbrötchen“ and a soy tempeh patty. The dish is served with aubergine-sesame-cream, cheese-cream (not really cheese, of course, but it tastes just as good), red and white cabbage salad as well as a carrot salad and as side dish on top a herbs-vegetable-skewer with peanut sauce. Mouthwatering! Katrin chooses the creamy mushroom dish with homemade beetroot gnocchi and fresh parsley. I cannot help it and must dip my finger into that creamy sauce (sorry Katrin!). The vegan sauce is highly recommended.

For my small appetite I choose the daily soup with homemade bread. The bread is my personal highlight of this evening. It is fluffy and still warm when served, and you can also order a gluten-free bread. The carrot soup is also very delicious. It has been a perfect evening with very good food.

ON THE MENU: The menu changes a little bit every month, so you never get tired of visiting this place. They have a vegan selection of seven to eight main dishes and also a few starters like soups or quiche. On the weekend you can also get breakfast at Lück’s. We will try that next time – and there will definitely be a next time!

PRICES: Starters around 5 € and main dishes about 9 €. Small beer 2,40 € and a fresh lemonade 3 €.

VIBES: The team at Lück’s is very nice and helpful. Of course we have a lot of questions and the waitress doesn’t get tired answering them. We felt very welcome and had a wonderful time.

DOWNER: Nothing here!

PICKY NOTES: Vegan & gluten-free options.
